Merman (Standing)
Created for PJ Harper’s Dazed feature, this sculpture reimagines The Little Mermaid through a personal, queer lens — touching on transformation, visibility, and self-authorship.
The figure stands almost fully nude, sculpted with calm strength and deliberate vulnerability. A bright red starfish covers the groin — a focal point that’s both playful and protective. Surrounding him, small sculpted fish move through resin as if orbiting him gently, pulling the myth back to nature.
There is no tail, no spectacle — just skin, stillness, and the choice to be seen.
